STGAA Game Development Contest!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am excited to announce the first ever STGAA Game Development Contest!
Who: The contest is open both to STG Alumni as well as current student members of the STG.
What: Participants will create non-electronic games that can be played in under 3 hours and can be taught to players in under 10 minutes. The goal being to create a new game that can be played at a convention.
The game can be a card game, a board game, or an easy pick-up casual RPG. It can also be something else you come up with! It must be a new game that you start and finish during the contest. It should be something that somewhere in the neighborhood of 3-6 players would enjoy playing at a minicon or a convention. All supplies and special equipment needed for the game to operate must be provided by the contest entrant. Readily available gaming supplies such as dice, standard playing cards, and so forth do not necessarily need to be provided, but are strongly recommended.

Where: The games created for the contest will be debuted at Summer Minicon where a winner will be chosen.

When: The contest starts now and ends at Summer Minicon, which will be sometime in the beginning of August.

Why: The winner will be a featured event at Arcon XIII!

How: The games will be rated in the following categories by those that play in the games as well as a panel of judges.

1. Creativity/Originality
2. Effort/Presentation
3. Mechanics
4. Ease of Learning
5. Fun Factor

Each category will be judged on a one to five scale by all judges.
